Hayman Consulting is a specialist consultancy for small and medium-sized charities helping them to build effective public policy campaigns at low cost. Our campaign is based on a three-step methodology involving:

  • honing a charity’s ‘ask’ of government
  • engaging partners
  • mounting an effective public and behind the scenes campaign.

We work with charities which are clear about what they are campaigning for and are willing to work pragmatically in order to achieve their goals.

On larger projects requiring significant media campaigns, we work with leading PR agency Goldbug.

We are run by Joe Hayman, the former Chief Executive of the PSHE Association. At the Association, Joe led the successful campaign for life skills education to be a compulsory subject in schools, working with experts, journalists, celebrities and parliamentarians from across the political spectrum. The experience and contacts Joe brings from this campaign and his previous roles working in Westminster put him in a great position to support other campaigns. Joe has also written two books on social attitudes in the UK: this experience means he can help charities give voice to beneficiaries in campaigns and develop messages which are likely to resonate with the British public.
